The Nectar Bar is a native landscaping company located in San Antonio, TX that is dedicated to the conservation of our pollinators. We specialize in designing and installing native pollinator gardens, restoring habitat within ecoregions, and educating the public on community stewardship practices that can be applied in a business or residential setting.
Originally founded in 2013, the Nectar Bar was officially opened for business in 2016 by Drake White, a local San Antonio resident. Drake is the Chief Docent Manager for the city’s Monarch Butterfly & Pollinator Festival, a Certified Texas Master Naturalist, and the designer and manager of the Butterfly Learning Center at Phil Hardberger Park, which is an outdoor classroom made possible by Alamo Area Texas Master Naturalist Program in partnership with Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy. Drake is also a Native Landscape Certified (NPSoT's NLCP) professional. She has spent the last six years raising butterflies of many species and educating others on their needs to thrive in the garden and on the landscape. She continues to learn and develop skills in conservation and engage in restoration efforts throughout Bexar County.
In March of 2019, Emma Jones joined Drake and took over as principal designer. She holds a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies and has many years of experience working as a horticultural specialist in different settings.
